Shenyang Olympic Stadium
Crystal Crown for football preliminaries

Shenyang Olympic Stadium is a 60,000-seat multi-use stadium in Shenyang, capital city of northeast China's Liaoning Province. It is dubbed the Crystal Crown because of its outside.

One of the four football venues in the co-host cities, the stadium will host 12 football preliminaries during the 2008 Olympic Games. It has a land surface of 150,000 square meters. The complex also includes a 10,000-seat gymnasium, a 4,000-seat swimming pool complex and a 4,000-seat tennis field.

The venue is reputed for details. The grass is a variety which grows in cold climates, suiting the winter in northeast China. To ensure sufficient indoor light, the stadium's roof has been covered with sunlight panels and glasses. The spectator-friendly facility, the large display screens at the two stands, measures 192 square meters each. The design of the VIP lounge puts privacy and comfort first.
