The Shanghai Stadium, a multi-use stadium in Shanghai, is used mostly for football preliminaries. The stadium was built in 1997 when the 8th National Games of People's Republic of China was held. It can hold about 80,000 people, so it is also called the 80,000 People's Stadium.

It is one of the thirty largest football stadiums in the world, and is the second-largest stadium in China after the Beijing National Stadium. It will be used for football preliminaries at the 2008 Summer Olympics.

This saddle-shaped stadium covers a floor area of 190,000 square meters and a total construction space of 150,000 square meters.
