Shenyang
co-host city for 2008 Olympic football preliminaries
 
Shenyang, the capital city of Liaoning Province of Northeast China, is one of the six co-host cities of 2008 Olympic Games. One of the football venues in the co-host cities, Shenyang Olympic Sports Center Stadium will host 12 football preliminaries during the 2008 Olympic Games.

The multipurpose venue Shenyang Olympic Stadium is the most modern sports stadium in Shenyang's history. It has a land surface of 150,000 square meters and contains 60,000 seats.

Shenyang has a typical northern continental climate with four distinct seasons. Shenyang is the largest city of northeast China with the largest railroad hub and airport across the region. It is an economic, cultural and important industrial base of the province, a financial and trade and transportation center in northeast China, as well as one of the most famous cultural and historic cities of China.
