Christmas used to be celebrated by Christians in China. In recent years, Chinese people, especially the young are starting to adopt Christmas celebrations especially in major cities, such as Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou. Christmas festivities are becoming more popular in China year by year. People celebrate with presents, good food and entertainment. Some decorate their houses with Christmas trees. Many large departments decorate their shops and Christmas carols can be heard over the noise of the crowds. People can even get gifts from Chinese Santa Claus in some departments.
